Samplers

Postby Jen R » Fri Dec 04, 2009 11:09 am

Hello.

I have one brewery left to complete the 32 of 32 Breweries and I have had a least one beer at each. My brother is also working on the list and is currently at 10 but has had a sampler at everyone. He wanted to know if there is anyone out there that has not only completed the 32 but had a sampler and each one (hence trying every beer offered). That appears to be his goal :D

I'm sure there were a few places that we did not have every beer, so your brother may be in the lead! :toast:

David, I hear it has gotten better.

Hi.

Still plan on finishing Dec 12. I'm looking at a meeting time of around 10:15 at the Parker Ave (?) parking for the Poughkeepsie Bridge (not sure if correct name). I will walk over and back than get to Hyde Park Brewery late AM. After that though, I'm going to do two more walks (probably in the Hyde Park Area as part of the Hyde Park Walkabout Patch/Program) than head over the Hudson to grab Windham (Cave) and Skytop for my brother before heading home. So its a full day for us. I will have a handful of family members with me including my 4 yr old niece so the walks will all be over 1 mile each but will be easy (possibilites: Winnakee Nature Preserve, Hackett Hill Park). You guys are welcome to join us for just Hyde Park or any portion of the day that suits you. I will get a more specific time (hopefully tomorrow) once I know who is definitely coming from my family.

Sounds good Jen...By the way are you also Jen R on ADkhighpeaks?.......What time does Hyde park open?....I'm really hoping to make it for the first hike then drive back home for a kayak dinner...last week I overdid it at the Brickhouse and Blue Moon... and didn't make it to a party that night...plus getting a kayak off the car after a v@B trip is not easy...
Tom are you and Laurie going to be there?....

Hi.

Yes, I'm Jen R on highpeaks too. I think Hyde opens at 11 or definitely by 11:30. I will have a 4 yr old with me so the walk will not be fast. I'm going to do the walkway over the Hudson -meeting at the Parker Avenue lot on the East side of the river. Don't you have a daughter? Feel free to bring her along.
I believe Tom/Laurie will be there for at least the first walk/brewery. Probably be up there by 10/10:15. Wtg to hear back from my sister if she is going. Will keep you posted.

sign..... :( yes i have 2 daughters and a son.....seems like the trip to Baxter up Kathadin and watching a mother moose with her calf did not excite my daughter to much....looks like the 13 y/o age has won over having to take bathroom breaks in the forest.....ahhhh, her first viewandbrew was the Brooklyn bridge....fond memory...who knows, I'll ask...can you be a little more specific on where to meet in the morning....and after 5 knee operations I'm smelling the flowers and taking pics....

Coldfeet,

Meeting time tomorrow is at 10 AM at the 61 Parker Ave Lot in Poughkeepsie for the Walkway over the Hudson (www.walkway.org). You could either do mapquest or maybe you have a GPS. I drive a Red Jeep Liberty.

Tom/Laurie are iffy for tomorrow. I'll know tonight. My mom, brother, niece and one friend are definites for the bridge walk, after, I'm meeting my sister and 3 more people at the Hyde Park Brewery and after we hope to do two small (1 - 1 1/2 mile) walks depending on the conditions with the snow. I'm hoping we can all do them in regular boots as I am the only one with snowshoes. Somehow I will walk the required mile to finish. :)

I've had a flight/Sampler at all but one Brew Pub so far and at a couple of them, they had say 12 beers they make and you got to choose 6, which I felt a little ripped because I still didn't get to sample, or try all of them. Oh Well, I have to look at it as impossible to try a brew pubs entire lineup because of the seasonal ones always go in and out.
A fine beer may be judged with only one sip, but it's better to be thoroughly sure.

When you posers come up with the list of all the beers you've tried, just know that Pamola has tried over 1,600 beers!
