Date of Hike: June 26 & 27

Date of Brew Pub Visit: June 27th

This is going to be a quick one because tonight I just don't feel like typing. Went up to Baxter State Park on June 25. Hike North Brother on Saturday and Then hiked up to Baxter Peak via the Knife Edge and then over to Hamlin on Sunday. Great Hike over the knife edge. Very impressive! Managed to roll my ankle really good a mile from the car, Oooh fuuudge! Only I didn't say "Fudge." I said THE word, the big one, the queen-mother of dirty words, the "F-dash-dash-dash" word! A need a beer!!!! Luckily my friend David (procook131) had an ice cold Rolling Rock for all of us at the car. This will do very nicely until we can get to that Brew Pub in Bangor.

Arrived at The Seadog Brewing Company in Bangor shortly after the hike. Walked in an asked if Chris Spellman was there, the guy who I had talked to on the phone and gave me a bunch of great info on the trails and park itself. Chris told us to make sure to catch up with him when we all stopped in. He was pointed out to me sitting outside and I went up and introduced ourselves in person. Talked about the trip and how it went and Chris bought us all a round of Pints. Very awesome of him! What a great guy. :toast: I had there Old East IPA which was "KICk ASS" to say the least and since it was so good I ordered the same thing to go with my food. Everyone was super pleased with there beer and food. I would have to say this was THE best food I've ever had at a brewpub and somewhere in the top 10 I've had at a restaurant. I had the Windjammer Mussels which is steamed in their own Windjammer Ale with onions, freshbasil and garlic. I've tried a lot of mussles at restaurants and this is easily without a doubt the best I've ever had. Got a huge bowl of them too, almost enough to make a meal out of. I also had the Valcano Burger which is there house burger topped with cheddar cheese, Hellfire relish(tomato-habanero relish), bacon and sunny side up egg. MMmmmm! :D

this whole place was awesome. The people were super friendly and helpful, from the girl behind the bar taking the time to find the pint glasses I wanted, to the bar tender that was kind enough to let David charge his cellphone at one of the outlest and Chris Spellman the guy who gave me trail advice and his cell number just in case our group had an emergency as well as buying us all a round of pints. Very cool guy i must say again. A couple days later he swam the width of the river that the Seadog in bangor overlooks to raise money for the homeless shelter there in Bangor. Class act all the way. Also this place is big, but at the same time it has a small cozy feel to it. I will try to get pics up. This place is a must go if you're anywhere in the area, and area, I mean Maine! :D
A fine beer may be judged with only one sip, but it's better to be thoroughly sure.
